Director K. Balachander, who was admitted to Cauvery hospital, has been shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). K. Balachander has developed urinary tract infection and has been admitted to the ICU for further treatment. He is critical but his general condition is stable. He was 84-year-old and he was taken to the hospital on Monday. Actor Kamal Haasan Tuesday wished Balachander a speedy recovery. K. Balachander introducing stars such as Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Saritha and Prakash Raj, Balachander has made over 150 films.
